In livestock related applications Stinger products offer outstanding results. Odor-Stinger has successfully reduced the odors in dairy, hog & poultry barns, collection systems and treatment lagoons. Adding the Odor-Stinger or Sludge-Stinger to aerobic digesting ponds increases the dissolved oxygen levels in the water due to redox cycling action and catalytic reaction of the active ingredients on the sulfur compounds.
The addition of Cell-Stinger promotes reaction with cellulosic molecules, breaking the cell walls and dehydrating the pulp.
The synergistic product of these two technologies is Sludge-Stinger. By decreasing the lattice-structure promoted by bacteria and pathogens, the micelle-like water pockets collapse, creating denser and finer sludge that dewaters more completely. Use of Sludge-Stinger will control sludge build-up in lagoons, extending operating cycles and efficiency.
In the case of compost or fertilizer, Sludge-Stinger does not effect the nutrient value of fertilizer and compost, but can eliminate the odor and render the odor source neutral.
-Does not create red water conditions like competitive products.
-Acts immediately to reduce odor unlike competitive products.
CATTLE AND FEED LOT MANAGEMENT
Environmental Issues:
• Scrutiny over Odor and Pollution
• Greenhouse gas emission (Carbon Dioxide, Methane)
• Groundwater Contamination
• Acid Rain Generation from Ammonia emissions
• Pathogenic Bacteria in solid wastes
• Stockpiles of Wastes
• Contaminated Waste Lagoons and Basins
• Odor issues due to Large amount of cattle in small areas
• Large areas needed to distribute bacteria laden manure
Cafo Needs (Confined Animal Feed Lots)
-A way to Control Odor

|
Stinger Response
-Neutralizes Sulfur Odors
-Digests Pathogenic Bacteria
-Digests Urease Enzymes that produce Ammonia
-Blocks Fermentation microbes
-Save Millions of Dollars in Available Ammoniacal Nitrogen
|
CAFO PROBLEMS:
• 60-80% of Nitrogen from manure is in urine
• Fecal Nitrogen is 50% organic, 50% ammoniacal
• Cattle Urine has 97% Ammoniacal Nitrogen
• Virtually all Ammoniacal Nitrogen is emitted to the atmosphere
• Ammonia enhances more Ammonia emissions
• Ammonia emissions to the upper atmosphere produce NOx leading to acid rain, sterilizing soils and denuding woodlands.
• Ammonia emissions worldwide are up due to livestock production
• Urease inhibitors are too expensive, too easily broken down by bacteria, too toxic
MANURE NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT
